DIY Plaid Christmas Ornaments
I’m super excited to be sharing DIY Plaid Ornaments with you today, plaid is so on trend this holiday season. Seems like you can’t go anywhere without seeing it, from pillows to dishes it comes in any form.
I’m definitely not complaining, I can’t get enough of it! 🙂
While I was out Christmas shopping I found some absolutely beautiful plaid ornaments, but I just couldn’t bring myself to pay what they were asking. So, I decided to make them myself.
Here’s what you will need.
Dollar tree plastic ornament, hot glue gun, scrap plaid fabric, I just cut up an old shirt I had laying around, twine and some embellishments.
The first thing you want to do is tie some twine around the top so you are able to hang it.
These would also be really cute as bowl fillers. You can skip the first step if you are using them for that purpose.
Place a dot of hot glue on the bottom of the ornament and place it in the middle of the fabric. This will help hold it in place while you are trying to wrap the fabric around the ornament.
Once it’s glued in place you want to gather all the fabric at the top of the ornament, and tie some twine around the top to keep it in place. Make sure to pull the string through that we will use to hang the ornament.
Now that its tied securely in place you can add your embellishments. I used some dollar tree mini pine cones, jingle bells and some greenery.
I love how these turned out, they are super cute and festive and best of all they are budget friendly.
