One of my favourite things to do around the holidays is baking, I love it, but I try to control myself with how much I eat. This year I decided I would do some baking with my sweet helper and spread Christmas cheer and give some to the neighbours instead of keeping it.
I want to instill in our kids that giving is better than receiving, and this was a perfect opportunity. My daughter and I spent the afternoon baking. I enjoyed every moment (well not the clean up afterwards lol) we had such a fun time. She is really becoming her own sweet little person and the years are flying by too fast.
We decided on peanut butter cookies and Christmas Peacan Crack.
I have made the cookies before but this was the first time making the Peacan crack, it was a Pinterest success! I have it pinned to my Christmas baking board so check it out and make sure you follow me there, I am always pinning!
So lets get on to the cookies
Of all the desserts out there cookies have to be my favourite of all time. I am always up to bake a batch. I am always looking for new recipes. From the first time I tried these I knew it was a keeper, they are so moist and soft.
Even the next day!
Mix the flour salt and baking powder in a bowl and set aside.
Next you will cream the peanut butter, sugar, butter and brown sugar, until well combined.
Add in the egg, vanilla extract, and milk.
Once everything is nicely mixed you will slowly add in the flour mixture, the dough will be sticky so once you are ready to spoon onto a baking sheet you will want to dip your hands in a bit of water so the dough doesn’t stick.
Bake at 375 degrees for 8-9 minutes, once they come out of the oven wait 2 minutes then add a Hersey kiss (optional)
