Rainy day picnic

I love having picnics all year round, especially on rainy days!

Today I am sharing all the details on the rainy day picnic I had with my kids the other day.

A rainy day picnic doesn’t just have to happen on rainy days, we have these even on sunny days. There is just something so fun about having snack foods and eating out of paper containers.

Don’t you agree?!

The details

My go to for picnics is using berry baskets, I got mine at Michaels, they are just so adorable and add a special touch to your picnic.

I lined the baskets with a plastic table cloth from, can you take a guess..The Dollar Tree! I know I talk about The Dollar Tree a lot but I just can’t help it, I find so much of my party decor there.

Anyway, back to the baskets, once I lined I filled them with some yummy veggies and added a little “Fresh Veggies” chalk board sign, also from The dollar Tree.

It turned out so cute and I just love it and my daughter did too! My son is too young to care, he just cared about the food!

As my daughter gets older she loves helping me put together things like this.  She always helps bring my vision to life! She wanted to help so I gave her her own little project and put her in charge of the cheese and crackers, and let her decide how to wanted to present it.

And of course a picnic wouldn’t be complete without some junk food!

I found a tutorial from Lia Griffith on these cute little chip bags, they were so simple to make and they were the perfect size to fit in little hands!

The drinks

I love dressing up straws, it is something so simple but make a big statement.

One night while on Pinterest I came across these flowers and saved them.  I wasn’t sure how I was going to use them, then when I was putting together the picnic it hit me. These flowers are the perfect touch, I just love how they turned out!
